St Andrews Healthcare is an established Mental Healthcare provider, located in Northampton on a 103-acre site with additional locations in Birmingham, Nottingham and Essex.

William Wake House is a 200,000 square feet (18,581m sq) purpose-built hospital unit for St Andrew’s Healthcare and it is the largest classical new building in Britain for over 50 years. Accommodating up to 132 patients across 8 wards and all patients are provided with single bedrooms complete with en-suite facilities.

Fixfire® supplied and installed the Life Safety Systems to this flagship purpose built Mental Health Unit. The work scope included:

Fire Alarm System. Installation of 11 No control panel 'open-protocol' ML range networked Fire Alarm System incorporating in excess of 2000 Fire Alarm detection devices. KeyCall® Fire Alarm Call Points are installed in all areas accessible to service users and VoidAlert™ is installed extensively throughout void areas.

Disabled Refuge Alarm System installed with outstations at every refuge point in designated positions.

Fire Fighting Equipment. Ultimex Fire Extinguishers throughout scheme.

Fixfire® has been involved with this client since the early 80’s and this is testimony to an enduring partnership and quality of products and service that have stood the test of time.

The main Northampton site includes several very large networked systems amongst the 57 No systems installed. The estate is protected by approximately 13,500 field detection devices. Fixfire® has progressively upgraded the original infrastructure to a common open-protocol platform.

Fixfire® provides planned and reactive maintenance for the Fire Safety Systems and equipment.
